The European Commission will request additional funding to help Ukraine
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the latest world conflicts require additional funding from the European Union. About it reports RIA News”.
Der Leyen made this statement on the eve of a new EU summit. According to her, the alliance’s budget will be reviewed at the next meeting of European leaders.
“All these challenges make it necessary for the EU to act decisively and together. This is how the European Commission acts. We continue to strongly support Ukraine in its needs and resistance to Russian aggression, we provide greater humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza, and we work with EU countries to manage migration. All this requires funding, so I proposed to revise the EU budget to finance these very important tasks, this will be discussed at this summit so that we can understand what stage we are at,” she said.
Earlier, the new Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, said that his country would no longer provide military assistance to Ukraine.
