More than 300 improvements for pedestrians and drivers were implemented in the capital
More than three hundred improvements for pedestrians and drivers were implemented in the capital this summer according to the projects of the curators of the Traffic Management Center. This was announced on Thursday, October 19, by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the city Maxim Liksutov.
“A large team of specialists carefully works on each improvement of traffic in the city: first, transport schemes are created by road curators of the data center, analysts carry out the necessary calculations, and then the innovations are implemented by road services,” he said.
The deputy mayor said that traffic lights, traffic islands and speed bumps have been added in areas where accidents occur frequently. In addition, traffic patterns in the capital have been adjusted.
For example, travel in the forward direction is now allowed on Festivalnaya Street before the intersection with the Moscow High-Speed Diameter. Thanks to this, throughput in this section has increased by 10–15 percent. In addition, re-marking was used in areas where traffic jams occurred.
The deputy mayor also said that in the summer, in almost 30 places in the capital where accidents occurred due to driving through a red light, the traffic control center established additional lightingduplicating the traffic light signal.
