In the Russian region, more than 120 children were poisoned by tap water

In Karachay-Cherkessia, more than 150 people, including 121 children, were poisoned with tap water. This was reported by the Rospotrebnadzor office for the Russian region on its website.

“It has been established that no common food items were identified as potential transmission factors during the epidemic investigation. The vast majority of patients interviewed have a history of drinking unboiled tap water,” the federal service reported.

They added that residents of the Ust-Dzhegutinsky district were poisoned en masse in the region. Experts conducted laboratory tests and found that six samples from drinking water collection points contained deviations from the established requirements.

Earlier in Chuvashia there was a mass poisoning of cafe visitors.

The incident occurred in the city of Kanash. Acute intestinal infection was recorded in ten people, including six children.
