Former Alushta City Council deputy detained in Crimea

Employees of the Center for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained former deputy of the Alushta City Council Timur Krymbariev in the Republic of Crimea, reports the Telegram channel “Mash on the Wave”. According to him, the 40-year-old ex-parliamentarian is suspected of promoting radical Islam and seizing a mosque.

As Mash on the Wave reports, Krymbariev and his accomplices staged a coup in the Simferopol prayer house “Suvuk-dere”, kicked out the imam from there and installed their own man in his place. According to the channel, the ex-deputy is a relative of former State Duma parliamentarian Ruslan Balbek.

According to the channel, the suspects were brought to administrative responsibility several times, but now it has come to the point of initiating a criminal case. Law enforcement officers searched the house of group leader Ridvan Maksudov, finding ammunition and firearms.

Earlier, former Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic Mazai Ramazanov was detained in Dagestan. He is suspected of receiving bribes. The case is related to government contracts, from which he allegedly earned about 88 million rubles.
