Foreign Ministry: China is interacting with Finland regarding the damage to the Balticconnector
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said China is cooperating with Finland regarding damage to the Balticconnector gas pipeline.
“China maintains smooth interaction with Finland and other parties,” the diplomat was quoted as saying RIA News.
Mao Ning stressed that Beijing has always been committed to strengthening cooperation and jointly ensuring the security of cross-border infrastructure.
On October 8, the gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia was blocked due to possible leakage. President of Finland Sauli Niinistö statedthat damage may be caused by external influences.
Later information appeared that Chinese ship Newnew Polar Bear could have been involved in the damage to Balticconnector.
