City services were put on high alert due to bad weather
Due to the expected bad weather, city services were placed on high alert. There are 1.5 thousand emergency crews on duty around the clock. This was announced on Friday, October 6, by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Communal Services and Improvement, Pyotr Biryukov.
According to him, rain and strong winds with gusts of up to 18 meters per second are expected in Moscow. There is a possibility of up to a quarter of the monthly rainfall.
— We check the drainage systems in advance: work has been organized to clean water intake grates, elements of the drainage system, storm drains and wells. Emergency teams from the State Unitary Enterprise Mosvodostok with water pumping equipment will be deployed in places where water may accumulate, reports Telegram– channel “Moscow Municipal Economy”.
Weather conditions are expected to worsen after noon October 6. Residents of the capital are asked to be careful, not to take shelter from bad weather under trees and not to park cars next to them. In an emergency situation, it is recommended to contact the single number 112.
“Yellow” level weather danger was declared in Moscow and the Moscow region on October 6 due to wind gusts of which can reach 17 meters per second, the press service of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation warned.
