A detained member of the Azerbaijani mafia explained the video of the beating of Russians
An 18-year-old young man detained in St. Petersburg gave an explanation regarding the video he published showing the beating of Russians. The recording was provided to Lenta.ru by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In the footage, the young man says that an acquaintance sent him a video of the fight. He published the video to increase the rating of his Telegram channel. The detainee denies his participation in the beating.
Earlier on October 16, it was reported that the police detained an 18-year-old member of the Azerbaijani mafia, suspected of numerous beatings of local residents. His 17-year-old accomplice is wanted. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to check the videos spread on the Internet with beatings of passers-by by immigrants from Azerbaijan. A group of teenagers aged 17 and 18, calling themselves the Azerbaijani mafia, attacked random residents of St. Petersburg and filmed everything on video.
A criminal case has been initiated against them under Article 213 (“Hooliganism”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
