Makarevich*’s tour of the CIS was in jeopardy

The support of musician Andrei Makarevich* (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) for Israel’s position in the conflict with Hamas jeopardized his tour with the group “Time Machine” in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. About it writes Telegram channel Shot.

Makarevich* moved to live in Israel with his wife. After February 24, 2022, he began to criticize Moscow’s actions in Ukraine and canceled his appearances in Russia. At the same time, the artist supported the actions of Israel against the backdrop of a sharp escalation of the situation in the Middle East on October 7.

At the end of November and beginning of December, the musician and the Time Machine group have four concerts planned: in Tashkent, Bishkek, Almaty and Astana. They found themselves under threat after Makarevich*’s statements about supporting Israel and promises to finance the Israeli IDF army.

In particular, the famous Kazakh director Nurtas Adambai stated that Makarevich* “has no place in Kazakhstan” due to the fact that the artist “supports the killing of Muslims.”

“An initiative group has already been created in the country that is fighting for the cancellation of the concert and calling on Kyrgyzstan to also oppose the arrival of the Time Machine in Bishkek,” the channel notes.

At the same time, in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Makarevich* and his group have already encountered poor ticket sales for their concerts. In particular, the halls in Bishkek and Tashkent are not yet even one third full.

On October 7, the Palestinian Hamas movement launched attacks on Israeli territory, entering a number of border towns and taking hostages. The Israeli authorities announced a transition to a state of war and the start of an operation in the Gaza Strip.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) released a statement saying more than two thousand children have died in the Gaza Strip since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict escalated. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 5 thousand people were killed during shelling of the enclave.
