“Go faster”: the driver was beaten to hell on the bus
They attacked the driver with kicks and punches, forcing him to fall out of the cab and striking him even while he was lying on the ground.
The driver was attacked and beaten on a bus: this happened on Wednesday morning on line 3, running from Virle (Rezzato) to Mandolossa (Brescia). The victim is a 54-year-old driver, a Brescia transport employee. The two attackers appeared to be two convicted criminals with drug addictions. There were also dogs on the bus with them: the police have not yet reached them, but now it is really a matter of a few hours. The situation started out badly from the very beginning: the two men spent the entire trip telling the driver to drive faster, in a not at all friendly tone.
However, it was at the Via Milano stop that they went completely out of control: they attacked the driver with kicks and punches, forcing him to fall out of the cab and striking him even while he was lying on the ground. The other passengers were shocked, but immediately alerted 112 (this was just after 9 am). A few minutes later, a police car arrived at the bus and is now conducting an investigation: after collecting statements from the driver and passengers, investigators are also studying images from cameras inside the car.
Criminal prosecution will be brought not only for assault, but also for interruption of public service. The injured driver was rescued by a Nave Cosp ambulance and then taken to a hospital in Brescia.
