Feira Franca de Albufeira returns in a new location
According to the newspaper Mail after it was not held in 2020, 2021 and 2022, Municipality of Albufeira has brought back Feira Franca, one of the events that residents and tourists appreciate most.
The fair moved from “a location next to the bus station to a new space next to the marina, a location that had hosted very successful events all summer, in an area with good infrastructure, accessibility and parking,” he explains in a municipal statement. .
This is one of the most traditional fairs, selling clothes, shoes, household items and toys. There will be activities such as rides and bumper cars for the enjoyment of children and adults. There will also be fartura, churros, cotton candy, snacks, honey, nuts and other regional products that visitors can take advantage of at lower prices.
The mayor of Albufeira, José Carlos Rolo, told the Postal newspaper that Feira Franca attracts thousands of visitors every year, and takes the opportunity to recall that “the first Feira Franca de Albufeira took place in the 17th century in the square of the Church of San Sebastian, which was very popular because it freed fair-goers from taxes.”
