Babkina explained the cessation of communication with Rotaru with the words: “There is danger”
Singer Nadezhda Babkina said that now her colleague Sofia Rotaru is in a “state of siege” due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The performer spoke about this in the “So to Say” program.
“She would be happy to break away, but there is family and everything… Where will she rush? I’ll want to return home. We all go home,” the TV presenter explained.
According to Babkina, before this she kept in touch with Rotaru, but now the artists have interrupted communication for some time, as “there is danger.”
“She couldn’t even come to our recital because she wasn’t allowed. They didn’t let her in. Although we already had a number made. We had to sing “Chervona Ruta” in Ukrainian. It was so cool. And she was passionate,” the singer noted.
Babkina summed up that she loves Sofia Rotaru very much.
“She is both a good singer and a normal person. You just need to communicate normally,” she emphasized.
In the summer of 2023, media reports appeared that Rotaru was living abroad with his son, daughter-in-law and grandson, who had been living in Italy for more than a year. There, the performer bought a house abroad, registering it in the name of her son Ruslan Evdokimenko.
