A military helicopter crashed during an emergency maneuver: there were casualties

A military helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing in a field near La Spreta airport in Ravenna and crashed into the ground nearby during the maneuver. According to the first information collected by RavennaToday, the accident occurred at 15:00: the helicopter “AgustaWestland AW129 Mangusta”, supplied to the army, took off from Rimini, but due to a malfunction, made an emergency landing, but ended up on the ground. on your side.

Rescuers arrived on scene to pick up the pilot and co-pilot – a 40-year-old and a 50-year-old – and take them to Bufalini Hospital in Cesena. Fortunately, none of their lives were in danger. The Carabinieri, the state police and the fire brigade intervened to investigate the matter and shed light on the matter.

Following the accident, the E45 state road in the area of ​​km 248 was temporarily closed to traffic in the direction of Ravenna, traffic was diverted through the mandatory exit at the Standiana – Mirabilandia junction (km 243,500). The closure was necessary to allow police to control the situation and ensure traffic flows out of the area affected by the accident.
