Real Sociedad player Zakharyan made his Champions League debut in the game against Benfica

Russian football player from Spanish club Real Sociedad Arsen Zakharyan made his debut in the Champions League. Sport Express reports this. On October 24th, Real Sociedad beat Portuguese Benfica 1-0 away.

Bryce Mendez scored the only goal. Arsen Zakharyan appeared on the field in the 76th minute. This is his debut at the most important club tournament in Europe. Sociedad announced the transfer of the 20-year-old midfielder from Dynamo Moscow on August 19.

The Russian international’s contract with the team runs until June 2029. The Spanish club scored seven points and topped the Group D table. The second Italian Inter Milan had the same number of points.

Austrian Red Bull Salzburg (three points) is in third place, Benfica (zero points) completes the quartet. In the next round, Real Sociedad hosts Benfica in San Sebastian and Inter visits Salzburg. Both games will take place on November 8th.
