Messi’s salary at Inter Miami has been revealed
The base salary of Argentine striker for North American Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami, Lionel Messi, is $12 million, and he will receive an additional $20.45 million as guaranteed severance pay. This was reported on the MLS players union website.
Along with Messi at Inter Miami are his former partners at Spanish FC Barcelona, defender Jordi Alba and midfielder Sergio Busquets. Alba’s base salary is $1 million and guaranteed compensation is $1.25 million. Busquets will receive $1.5 million in base salary and $1.775 million in compensation.
Messi moved to Inter Miami in June after two seasons with French club Paris Saint-Germain. For Inter Miami he played 13 games in all competitions, scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists. Together with him, Inter Miami, founded in 2018, won the first trophy in history – the Leagues Cup.
