Men’s Alpine Ski World Cup calendar 2023/2024: race dates

13 downhills, 8 super-Gs, 11 giant slaloms, 13 slaloms. The 2023/2024 Men’s Alpine Ski World Cup will feature 45 races. It’s a busy year that starts on Sunday, October 29th in Sölden, Austria with the giant slalom. In November, on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th, sprinters will take to the two freestyle stages between Switzerland and Italy in Cervinia-Zermatt, the first cross-border race in World Cup history.

Skiers will then compete in the Austrian slalom at Gurgl on Saturday 18 November, while the sprinters return to the scene in two free runs and a super-G at Beaver Creek (USA) from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 December. .

The return to Europe, to Val d’Isere, is scheduled for Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December with giant slalom and slalom. Then comes the long-awaited moment of Italian racing with a super-G and downhill in Val Gardena, on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 December, with two giants in Alta Badia, on Sunday 17 and Monday 18 December, and a slalom in Madonna. The New Year will open with technical disciplines: giant slalom and slalom on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 January on the snow of Adelboden, Switzerland. Still on the Swiss snow in Wengen, the Super-G and downhill races will take place next week on Friday the 12th and Saturday the 13th. The slalom is scheduled for Sunday, January 14th. Two men’s downhill events will take place on the Streif in Kitzbühel on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 January, with a slalom scheduled for Sunday 21 January. January will be non-stop, with a slalom and giant slalom in Schladming on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 January, and two super-Gs in Garmisch on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 January.

In February there will be two free runs on the slope: on Friday the 2nd and on Saturday the 3rd, and on Sunday the 4th there will be a competition between narrow slalom poles. The technical disciplines will be the stars again next week in Bansko, Bulgaria, where giant slalom and slalom are scheduled for Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th. Then the fast disciplines will return in Norway’s Kvitfjell with the downhill and super-G. The new overseas trip, which will take place between late February and early March, will see the Giants and Slalomers compete on Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25 in Palisades-Tahoe and next week in Aspen on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3. Next up is another challenge between the tight gates in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, with giant slalom and slalom on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March.

The 2023/2024 Alpine Ski World Cup final will take place from 16 to 24 March in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria, where the 2025 Alpine Ski World Cup will be held.

Marco Odermatt, who won the general and special classifications in giant slalom and super-G last season, is the big favorite. His main rival will be the winner of the downhill “cup” Alexander Amodt Kilde.
