Croatia unexpectedly lost to Wales in the Euro 2024 qualifying game
Today, October 15, the national teams of Wales and Croatia met in the match of the 8th round of the group stage of the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament within Group D. The game took place in Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium. The starting whistle sounded at 9:45 p.m. Moscow time. Wales unexpectedly beat Croatia 2-1.
The teams spent the first half without scoring. At the start of the second half, in the 47th minute, Harry Wilson scored the first goal with a pass from David Brooks, giving Wales the lead. Shortly afterwards, in the 60th minute, Harry Wilson scored his second goal of the game from a pass from Daniel James, scoring a brace and doubling the hosts’ lead. In the 75th minute, Marko Pasalic scored, but it wasn’t enough – Croatia unexpectedly lost 1-2 to Wales.
Thus, after six games of the qualifying tournament for the European Championship 2024, the Welsh national team scored 10 points and is in second place in Group D. After six games of qualification for the European Championship 2024, the Croatian national team again scored ten points and is in third place.
