Russians are at risk of being scammed due to the fact that WhatsApp no ​​longer supports the application on Android devices with an outdated operating system. We are talking about installing analogues from suspicious sites, stated cybersecurity expert Alexey Kurochkin for the 360 ​​TV channel.

According to the expert, maintaining versions for different generations of smartphones is labor-intensive, expensive and not entirely convenient, but “this is the course of life.” He called such changes development.

The expert also pointed out the need to choose messenger versions from well-known and reliable developers. According to him, dishonest developers are introducing spyware.

The specialist warned against searching the Internet for alternatives for WhatsApp on unknown sites and downloading them from there. He pointed out the risk of running into scammers.
