American billionaire and businessman Elon Musk offered Wikipedia to change its name for $1 billion. He wrote about this on the page of his social network X (formerly Twitter).
At the same time, as an alternative, the entrepreneur suggested an indecent name.
“I’ll give them a billion dollars if they change their name to Dikipedia,” Musk said.
Dick is a vulgar designation for the male genital organ in English.
Last year, Elon Musk criticized Wikipedia for biased editing of articles about the scandal with the son of US President Hunter Biden.
Before this, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales said that Musk was “completely incorrect” in identifying problems with the social network Twitter. He said Twitter has “the real problem with trolling and abuse, not a lack of free speech.”
In October 2023, Musk suspected Wikipedia of misappropriating funds. He wrote that the Wikimedia Foundation “wants so much money” not to operate an online encyclopedia.
