23 Starlink satellites launched into orbit
The American SpaceX successfully launched 23 Starlink satellites into orbit. About it reports RIA Novosti with reference to the company’s statement on social networks.
“The launch of 23 Starlink satellites has been confirmed,” the statement said.
The Falcon 9 launch vehicle carrying the satellites launched on October 22. The launch took place at 02:17 GMT from Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida.
There are currently about 4.2 thousand Starlink satellites in orbit. They are united in a satellite network that provides broadband Internet access anywhere on Earth. The project is being implemented by Elon Musk’s company.
Previously, the satellitemap.space portal, which tracks satellites, recorded that SpaceX lost 212 vehicles from July 18 to September 18. The number of burned satellites has been increasing in recent years, but such a significant jump from July to September has been observed for the first time. The reason is still unknown.
