The Russians were asked to name any number from one to ten. The most common number in the answers was seven. In addition, the popular options were “five”, voted for by 32 percent of respondents, and “three” (23 percent). It is clarified that the seven is especially popular among young people aged 18 to 24 years (40 percent of respondents) and people 45-49 years old (45 percent). Russians also often called the numbers “eight” and “nine.” According to the study, women named “seven” as their favorite number more often than men. Thus, 43 percent of the women surveyed chose this number, while the men could not decide, giving an equal number of votes to the numbers “five” and “seven.”
